About Steve

Steve was on the front line during the early days of fine wine making in southwest Michigan. As a boy he worked with his father who had a vision that we could grow fine wine grapes in our region. By fate, two years after arriving here, Len Olson founded Tabor Hill, and became neighbors with the Salisbury’s. Len and Steve’s dad collaborated on growing grapes and making great wine. Steve’s first jobs were at Tabor Hill and other wineries in the area.

After a corporate career in business consulting, Steve has returned to his roots and is now an advocate for the region’s wine industry. He founded If Vines Could Talk, which is his platform to provide a weekly podcast dedicated to Michigan wine, private tastings, history and wine talks, wine reviews, and so much more.
